Well...thats right, i have left everything for a few months, to keep producing, to learn a lot more about the art, and to travel trough my thoughts every day.

Truly sorry folks, ive been a little bit away for these past weeks, working with Velvet Promotions and producing. Its been a great time to think about music, to have fun with what we want to do, so we are almost one week away from the next Velvet Sessions gig, having local talents Orguil España vs Obd Prza who actually closed the evening for Above & Beyond (congrats mate!) and also Ettore Lentini, one of the biggest Trance djs within our beloved country. Hope you have a great time there and hope to see you all!

Back on Track

Well folks im truly sorry for this long time without posting any new info on the site. I´ve had some really busy weeks lately, but we are back on track. I went to Guatemala for velvet Sessions @ La Casbah and it was very good, great place, nice vibes. had an interesting weekend in Guatemala, got to visit the Full Moon Rave at Lago de Atitlan, sure was one experience.

We had the last velvet Sessions this past week. One of the best gigs without a doubt.We got a video at least and actually recorded part of the set.

ONE DAY FOR GUATEMALA!

Well...its just a day to Velvet Sessions at guatemala. I´m pretty nervious to be honest, maybe not nervous but excited to be there! its actually my very first gig outside my beloved country, i hope i can do a good job there and put the good vibes all over the place!, im actually planning to get there friday afternoon, my friend hentze will be there waiting for me and the first thing i wan to do is eat taco bell, they have taco bell at guatemala..lucky them!. But anyhow, on saturday im going to Thrillseekers and meeting the place, malls, places whatever goes, and coming back on sunday.

ill give you guys updates when i come back!

GOING FORWARD ON PRODUCTION

I had a long meeting today with producer Audioport, also known as Telebanke. We actually spent the whole day working on a track we´re making together, lets hope we can get to something real good together and go far with production. Audioport who is Luis Martinez has such a big potential and talent that im pretty sure will get him far eventually; and myself...i try my best haha!.

well, i have good news, next friday since i´ll be playing at LA Casbah club in Antigua Guatemala, i´ll have the great honor of having dj/producer Alex Hentze to warm up the gig! well, along with Cesar Eche who is the resident dj of the venue. Hope you can assist and we will have a good time together!

Velvet Sessions 1.0 @ GUATEMALA 06.29.07

Well...with Velvet Promotions, we are starting the first gig outside the country. Velvet Sessions 1.0 @ LA CASBAH, Antigua Guatemala. One of the best places in Antigua Guatemala and Guatemala, they just had Lee Burridge shake the place down a few weeks ago, so we know its a great club to party at. ill have the opportunity and honor to play there on that date...it will be a nice Bus trip to Guatemala during the morning, to get there at noon or starting afternoon, go have lunch with our friends there in guate and then get to the good stuff.

BIO

RICARDO CASTILLO (TECHNO – MINIMAL TECHNO)

From Being a Full time academic Panist, in middle 2005, Ricardos life made a 360 degree turn around. Making electronic music a part of his daily living.
2006 opened new doors to Castillo, after practicing, playing at underground gigs, and a few clubs around San Salvador, had the opportunity to warm up the gig for Canadian dj/producer/remixer Gabriel Batz.
After playing at several local bars, clubs and beaches, in late 2006 Ricardo decided to start his own promoter "Velvet Promotions", helping the local electronic music scene to grow with "velvet Sessions". Having now thrown 4 gigs that have been of most success, and had a Velvet Sessions in Guatemala.
So far, with only one year and a half of producing and a year of djing, Ricardo already has played in Guatemala twice and shared decks with important Central American djs (such as Alex Hentze, Rodrigo Valdes, Abraham Saca, Ettore Lentini to name a few); and have helped the electronic music scene in San salvador moving towards the whole Central American region.
Now being a big part in the local electronic music scene and moving forward in djing and producing, Ricardo Castillo`s Minimal Techno & Techno is touching hearts, minds and shaking dancefloors all over.
